Will there be a season 2 of Fleishman Is In Trouble?

We don’t think so!

Fleishman Is In Trouble was initially billed as a TV mini-series. But will there be a season 2 of the series? Well, we can’t be so sure. The series hasn’t been renewed for season 2 yet.

The show premiered on December 20th 2022 on Hulu. It’s an 8-part mini-series. The show is actually an adaptation of Taffy’s 2019 novel of the same name. The cast and crew were able to adapt the novel adequately in the space of just one season.

Why was the show cancelled though?

‘I THINK IT SAID WHAT IT HAD TO SAY’

Cast member Claire was recently interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter and asked if she would be interested in doing another season:

“Oh, I think it needs to be what it is. I think it said what it had to say. But I loved everybody I worked with, and we’re all still texting away. They are actual friends, which is not always the case. That doesn’t always happen. And, it’s not always a sign that the project is successful! So I got many gifts from this one.”

She added: “Lasting friendships is a very major one — a massive, juicy cherry on top.”

When asked what she would wish for audiences to take away from the finale, she replied that she thinks “the big moral of the story is to engage in more self-reflection and less knee-jerk judgment of others. I think that’s a big idea…”

“It’s a limited series. This story is the breadth of the book, and I feel it’s very complete,” she told the Sioux City Journal, per Bustle.

So, considering all the material in the original novel will have been covered by Episode 8, a renewal isn’t looking promising.

But wait! She continued, giving viewers a ray of hope.

“You never know,” Taffy teased. “I’m also tempted to never let any of these characters go. It’s sad. Whatever I write next will be a little less close to my bones than this, right? This was my first thing and my most essential thing I can still feel in my stomach.”

Taffy continued to rile up fans on Twitter, tweeting “The second season of FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE is predicated on the idea that the Fleishmans will be a legitimate family within five years.”

Naturally, there was a follow-up to this. “Obviously I’m kidding and just watching GODFATHER II, which is not a Christmas movie but includes a chorus of children, which is very Christmasy to me. There is no second season of FLEISHMAN!”

Fleishman Is In Trouble Cast

For the second season (if it happens), we can expect the return of almost all the cast members.

The main lead character, Toby, portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg will definitely return. Additionally, Claire Daines (Home lander) will play Toby’s ex-wife. Maxim Jasper and Mesara Mahoney will return as Toby’s children. Adam Brody (My Father’s Dragon), Lizzy Caplan (Inside Job), Josh Radnor (Hunters), Michael Gaston, and Joy Suprano are among the other actors in the cast.
