“Euphoria” is an American teen drama TV series developed and jotted down by Sam Levinson for the network HBO. It is heavily inspired by the Israeli TV minis-series of the exact name composed by Ron Leshem along with Daphna Levin.
The HBO series revolves around a bunch of high schoolers through their life experiences of personality, shock, dopes, relationships, sex, and love. The show has a list of star-studded cast members with Zendaya as the central character, alongside Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Storm Reid, Sydney Sweeney, Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Algee Smith, Javon Walton, Dominic File, Colman Domingo, and Austin Abrams.
When the series made its debut, Euphoria has attained notable acclaim and was highly applauded for its outstanding cinematography, well-crafted plot, score, excellent acting and deliverance of the cast mainly Zendaya and Hunter Schafer, and executing its mature content, though it raised many eyebrows for its nakedness and sexually explicit scenes, to which plenty of critics found it quite extreme.
The series also earned multiple nominations such as the British Academy Television Award for the category of Best International Programme, and the Teen Choice Award for the category of Outstanding Achievement in Drama. Singer and Actress Zendaya earned a Primetime Emmy Award and a Satellite Award for the category of Best Actress in a Drama Series for her mind-blowing performance in “Euphoria.”
With the second season currently airing do you think the series will be back with more seasons in the future? It’s plausible given the massive popularity of the show although it nearly took three years for the show to return with a second season it finally happened. Here’s everything you need to know about the third season of “Euphoria.”
Do you think season 3 of Euphoria will happen?
With such a huge fandom and success of the show, it’s most certainly a YES! However, HBO is yet to confirm or renew the series for a third season run. HBO likely will renew the hit series for a third instalment before the second season wraps.
If renewed, the third season will likely consist of eight episodes just as the previous and current seasons.
Euphoria Season 3 Release Date
The HBO drama’s upcoming new season has been reported to have been delayed as a result of the writers’ and performers’ strike, with a premiere date of no later than 2025 (via Elle).
“We cannot begin filming,” Orsi clarified. “Therefore, the delivery of that show—ideally in 2025—will depend on our ability to reunite with Sam, who is currently [not writing] and just wrapping up on The Idol.”
Orsi also disclosed in May that, despite the fact that work on the third season had begun, the team did not yet “have countless scripts” because of the strikes. Writing on Euphoria won’t be finished for a time, since Levinson is the only one who writes episodes for the programme and the WGA strike concluded just at the end of September.
To make matters worse, Kevin Turen, who co-founded Little Lamb Productions with Sam and Ashley Levinson and was responsible for the production of Euphoria and The Idol, passed away unexpectedly in 2023 at the age of 44. This is believed to further postpone the series’ production.
Cast Update
Zendaya will be making a comeback as Rue, which will make you pleased. Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Algee Smith (Chris), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Maude Apatow (Lexi), Storm Reid (Gia), Nika King (Leslie), Austin Abrams (Ethan), Colman Domingo (Ali), and recent hire Dominic Fike (Elliot) will also feature in the cast.
Casting for the upcoming season appears to be far along, as DeuxMoi revealed in January 2024 a blind item claiming that performers in Los Angeles had been holding auditions for the third season.
Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and Zendaya got back together in December 2022 for the Euphoria ‘For Your Consideration’ event at the Paramount Theatre in Los Angeles.
The actress that plays Kat, Barbie Ferreira, announced in August 2022 that she would not be coming back for the third season of the show, much to the dismay of her fans.
‘After four years of getting to embody the most amazing and enigmatic character kat, I’m having to say a very teary eyed goodbye [sic],’ the model and actor stated on her Instagram story. She has been a part of the show for four years.
‘Fan art’ of her character created by Schafer, her co-star, was attached to her note.
She continued, saying, “I hope many of you could see yourself in her as much as I did and that it was enjoyable to watch her develop into the person she is today.” I hope you all could sense the love and attention I gave her. I adore you, Katherine Hernandez.
