After a lot of hullabaloo, Formula 1 most awaited series, Drive to Survive season 2 is all set to go! Given the massive success of its last season, the next installation of the F1 series, Drive to Survive has recently been announced by Netflix.
Drive To Survive is a documentary TV series produced in association with Formula 1 and Netflix behind-the-scenes look at the drivers and races of the Formula One World Championship. This popular series was first released in March 2019 on Netflix, in which a total of 10 episodes were seen. Season 1 proved to be the first series that (literally for the first time) gave the audience a chance to get acquainted with the cockpit – and the life of the player of Formula 1. The second season covers the entire Formula One World Championship of 2019, including the players of every team and their F1 cars.
The last season (Season 3) covered the in and out broadcast and behind-the-scenes players of the One World Championship in 2020.
Season 3 ends in a dramatic turn where Max Verstappen wins the F1 Championship; thanks to a twist in the last lap! Fans are eagerly waiting for the secret to get revealed: Will Hamilton return in season 4? People have been waiting eagerly to know whether Hamilton will return to the track or not after Max broke Hamilton’s 7-year win streak record.
Drive to Survive Season 4: Release date
Each season of Drive To Survive has been released in a gap of one year. The first season aired on 8th March 2019, whereas the second season was released on 28th February 2020. Followed by the last season on 19 March 2021. The show got a lot of appreciation from the critics and the fans!
However, to date, Netflix has not made any official announcement regarding the release date of the series. But as we see in every turn, a few weeks prior to the F1 Championship, the release date of the series is announced. Consequently, we can anticipate seeing the Drive to Survive season 4 a few weeks before the 2022 F1 Championship.

Netflix has all the screening copyrights of F1 Drive To Survive since 2019. So, if you are thinking of watching, make sure you have a Netflix subscription. Who can return in Season 4?
Last season’s character Max Verstappen, who won the championship title in season 3, hasn’t revealed anything about season 4 yet. But James Gaye Rees and Paul Martin who have been on the show’s production team for the last 3 years have confirmed their appearance on the upcoming series. Besides, Sophie Todd (show runner up) would probably be seen on season 4, as well.
What do we expect to see in Drive to Survive season 4?
Like we saw in the last season, Max Verstappen wins the championship with a twist in the last lap – defeating the defending champion Lewis Hamilton. Not only did he defeat Hamilton but also broke his 7 continuous win streak. This coming season will cover everything about the F1 Championship to be held in 2022.
With hope in mind, we can only expect Hamilton, after a huge defeat, to be back on the track – and compete for the 2022 championship. In this series, the creators carefully study all the details of the championship – and then execute with precision. Every minute detail from behind the scenes will be shown in the series. Till now, Netflix did not release any official announcement related to the plot – or cast of the season.
