‘Chicken Run 2’ is a highly anticipated American animation, adventure comedy flick helmed by Sam Fell and jotted down by Sam Fell along with Peter Lord, Karey Kirkpatrick, Nick Park, John O’Farrell, and Rachel Tunnard. The forthcoming movie is produced by Carla Shelley, Sarah Cox, Karey Kirkpatrick, Peter Lord, Sean Clarke, Nick Park, Leyla Hobart, Steve Pegram, and Zoe Verrier-Stunt. 

 

This movie is distributed by Netflix and produced by Aardman Animations in cooperation with Lionsgate and StudioCanal.

 

In a statement, Peter Lord, co-founder & creative director of Aardman said, “Fans around the world have waited patiently for a sequel idea worthy of Chicken Run so we’re delighted to announce, on the 20th anniversary, that we’ve found the perfect story.”

 

He resumed, “Netflix feels like the ideal creative partner for this project too: they celebrate the film-maker, which means we can make the film we want to make – the one we really care about – and share it with a global audience.”

 

With that said, now finally a question arises- are we getting a Chicken Run 2 anytime soon? Here’s what we know about it

‘Chicken Run 2’ Release date: When is it?

Unfortunately, there’s no release date for Chicken Run 2 as it is yet to be announced. However, it was revealed that the upcoming animated movie would delve into production in 2021 but one may expect the movie to arrive in 2 years at the most.

 

As per a report stated by RadioTimes.com, the movie makers have long planned for a limited theatrical release along with its Netflix premiere. So apparently, you should be able to watch the sequel when it hits the theatres whenever it arrives.

 

Also, by 2023 ‘Chicken Run 2’ will be out although it is purely based on speculation. 

 

The streamer will launch the movie across the globe except China which is excluded. This piece of information was declared during an ’Annecy Making Of’ conference on the animation festival’s digital forum.

Who is in the cast of ‘Chicken Run 2’?

All the major cast would be reprising their respective roles in the upcoming sequel excluding Julia Sawalha, who was expected to return on the sets of ‘Chicken Run 2’ as Ginger but sadly, she wouldn’t joining the rest of the cast. 

 

The cast includes Matilda Ziegler (as Ginger), Donal Gibson (as Rocky), Kari Wahlgren (as Molly), Timothy Spall (as Nick), Phil Daniels (as Fetcher), Greg Salata (as Fowler), and Lynn Ferguson (as Mac).

Chicken Run 2’ Plot: What to expect?

After a narrow escape from the death itself from Tweedy’s ranch, Ginger was able to realize her dream. She wants a secluded island sanctuary for the entire bunch, far away from where dangers know no existence. 

 

When Ginger and Rocky hatch a tiny girl named Molly, Ginger has her blissful conclusion and appears to be complete.

 

But later, she discovers that back on the landmass the entire chicken-kind encounters a new and dreadful warning. However, Ginger and her whole squad decide to put their freedom on the line to save them. Will they be successful? We’ll have to find out when the movie comes out.
