Brahmastra: When’s the movie releasing?

The much awaited big scale fantasy adventure epic “Brahmastra” is all set to be released! The makers and the production team have put in helluva efforts to make this movie a success! And with such an amazing star cast, it’s no surprise that the film will be breaking all box office records!

 

The movie will comprise 3 parts (it’s going to be a trilogy!) Earlier, filmmaker Karan Johar announced the first instalment of the movie to be released in 2017. Due to production issues, the date was slated for August 2019. It couldn’t happen again due to some reasons and was then postponed to 2020.

 

It’s no secret what happened in 2020. Ever since the pandemic hit us, the release dates of all the web series and movies have been impacted. Likewise, the release of Brahmastra was also postponed. However, a few days back Karan Johar tweeted about its release saying, “Bow down to the fire that’s Shiva! Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva – releases in cinemas on 09.09.2022” 

 

Brahmastra is set to hit the screens on September 9, 2022. Woah, finally, after so much waiting, we did get the release date! If any more updates are made, we will keep you guys posted. Stay tuned!

Brahmastra: What’s the movie about?

The movie, Brahmastra is about Shiva and his Supernatural capabilities. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva, megastar Amitabh Bacchan and Alia Bhatt. According to the makers, it’s going to be a trilogy and will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The director of the film, Mukherji, said that it’s not a “superhero” movie – however, the team worked really hard to get the VFX right and set everything in place. 

 

“I know the term superhero gets used with the film a lot because it is sort of in that genre. But in my mind, it is not a superhero film. It is a fantasy adventure epic. It is a modern mythology piece. Shiva is closer to a modern representation of a deva than a western superhero. He is a normal guy who is born with certain energy within him”, the director said.

 

That’s all the information we have about the movie, as of now. Because there haven’t been many revelations about the plot, we can’t anticipate what it’s going to be exactly. As the director said, it’s not a superhero film, it’s based on fantasy and adventure. 

 

Our guess is, in the movie, we will see the doings of Shiva, his adventures – well, basically the summation of his life. No wonder, the movie will have the inevitable spice of any Bollywood fantasy film – and with Ranbir Kapoor playing the role, it’s only going to add more thrill! Stay tuned for further updates!

Brahmastra: Other potential updates 

The director of the movie while speaking to a set of journalists at the time of launch said that he had been contemplating the idea of a movie like this since 2011. After his debut “Wake Up Sid” and his blockbuster hit film, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ”, he has been nurturing the very idea of Brahmastra. 

 

He quoted, “The feeling of spirituality that we have in India when we go to the Himalaya or visit some ancient sites… Indians are spiritual, we believe in a higher power. I felt a story like this had not been made in India. Then, the story came to me as something set in the modern world. That juxtaposition of modern and ancient was extremely appealing.” What appealed to him the most was the roots of Indian Mythology and he wanted to make a movie on the same.

 

The director asserted, “I felt I could continue to write as a modern filmmaker but also draw from my roots and where we all come from. I felt that it was new and powerful.” The film features Bhatt as Isha and Bachchan as Guruji. More details about their characters will be revealed in time!”

 

“The motion poster now will focus on Shiva. Then we will come to Isha, Guruji. We can’t reveal everything at once,” he added.

Brahmastra: Official Teaser?

Given that the movie is set to release on September 9, 2022, we can expect the promotional teaser or trailer to be released a few weeks prior. As of now, the trailer has not been revealed.
