Black Butler Season 4: All About The Series!
Black Butler is a Japanese cartoon series that aired for a total of 3 seasons. It received lots of love from its fans right after the premiere of the first episode.
The Japanese series has been licensed by Yes Press in North America. Published in Yen Plus from 2009 to July 2010, the anime series was also licensed by Funimation.
Later when Funimation lost the rights to the first two series, both seasons were adopted by Aniplex of America. As per records, the series has sold over 28 million copies across the globe.
Before the anime, the series was a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. Its first publication was done in Square Enix’s Shonen Manga magazine Monthly Gangan fantasy in 2006. As of today, the publication of the series is still active in the magazine.
The story of the series belongs to the Thriller, Dark Comedy, and Dark Fantasy genres. All three seasons of the anime are produced by A-1 Pictures!
Black Butler Season 4 release date: Will Black Butler Season 4 Return in 2024?
Black Butler: Public School Arc (Season 4) was announced on the anime’s website on Dec. 14, 2023, for April 2024. However, there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding the premiere date as of yet. In honor of Black Butler protagonist Ciel Phantomhive’s birthday, a special image of the character was released after Sebastian Michaelis’.
Kenjirou Okada, who directed March Comes In Like a Lion and many Monogatari episodes, will direct Black Butler Season 4. The music is by Ryo Kawasaki (To Your Eternity), while screenwriter Hiroyuki Yoshino, who worked on Dance in the Vampire Bund and Strike the Blood, returns from Season 1. The show will be animated by CloverWorks, which has animated The Promised Neverland, Wonder Egg Priority, My Dress-Up Darling, and Spy x Family.
The 2010s’ legendary anime Black Butler and Blue Exorcist are finally making a big comeback, with their return uncertain. Blue Exorcist returns in January 2024, while Black Butler ran from July to September 2014. Both have badly departed from the source material, causing franchise fans much disagreement.
Season 3’s manga-accurate adaptation will put Black Butler back on track. Crunchyroll describes Season 4 as follows: “Ciel Phantomhive is England’s most powerful youth, but he’s scarred by unfathomable agony. Ciel was kidnapped and tortured after witnessing his parents’ horrible murder. The youngster surrendered his soul for vengeance, relying on Sebastian, a demon Butler called from hell, to ease his torment. They’ll patrol London’s darkest alleys to stop evildoers.”
Black Butler Season 4 cast: Whom Can We Expect?
In the Black Butler anime series, all the characters are well designed to have an enhanced storyline. The best aspect of the characters is the illustration of mannerisms though.
The voice acting was also fabulous! One of the main reasons for the popularity of the season is the perfectly synced character and voices. If season 4 were to happen, we can expect the return of almost all the cast members.
That said, the voice over cast for Black Butler season 4 might comprise:
- Sebastian Michaelis
- Baldroy
- Ciel Phantomhive
- Alois Trancy
- Finnian
- Claude Faustus
- Mey-Rin
- Grell Sutcliff
- Undertaker
What to Know for Black Butler Season 4: Latest updates
The new season of Black Butler will be directed by Kenjiro Okada for CloverWorks. The show’s primary writer will be Hiroyuki Yoshino, Yumi Shimizu will create the character designs, and Ryo Kawasaki will provide the music.
The first two returning actors in the voice cast have already been announced; they are Maaya Sakamoto as Ciel Phantomhive and Daisuke Ono as Sebastian Michaelis.
Now is the ideal time to catch up because this series is being hailed as a continuation rather than a fresh reboot of the original anime. The Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic movie is now streaming on Crunchyroll, and the first two seasons of the show are available on Hulu (as well as all three seasons in the Funimation library).
In terms of what to anticipate from the venerable anime series, Black Butler is hinted to as follows:
Ciel Phantomhive is the strongest child in all of England, yet he is scarred with indescribable pain. After being made to see his beloved parents’ horrible murder, Ciel was kidnapped and subjected to severe torture.
The youngster, who was desperate to find relief from his misery, exchanged his soul for the chance to exact revenge, joining forces with Sebastian, a demon Butler called from the depths of hell, who was the only person he could trust. They’ll patrol London’s seediest lanes together in an effort to put an end to evildoers.
