Alone is a reality television show and is one of the most popular shows on the History channel. Most survival shows are revealed to be staged but Alone, who also has the survivalist genre, seems to embrace its authenticity and theme. This is because most of the participants in this show are alone trying to survive on their own. Alone contestants record all the films themselves. The contestants are given hundreds of hours of camera time to production, the only time they come out from the remote locations is to change batteries and memory cards.
According to Larry Roberts, “It varied, but they did check on us regularly. We had a GPS tracker that we were required to carry, and they would check in with us at least nightly to make sure that we were OK. They would send a very simple text that just said, ‘Nightly check-in,’ and we would just hit, ‘OK,’ and send it,” he said to ODN.
Indeed Larry’s statement discloses many interesting details, proving the fact that the participants of the show deliver their every footage and they hunt and search for their food.
