Alba is a Spanish drama television series adapted from the popular Turkish series called “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” also known as Fatmagül in Spanish. The series is being produced by Atresmedia and Boomerang TV, which was launched on Atresplayer Premium on March 28, 2021.
The scripting team consists of Irma Correa, Susana López, Javier Holgado, Carlos Vila, Ignasi Rubio and Carlos Martín in the direction of Pablo Guerrero, Carlota Martínez-Pereda, and Humberto Miró. Shooting for the series commenced back in June 2020.
The series is executively produced by Pablo Guerrero, Montse García, and Luis Santamaría. The first season consists of thirteen episodes with a running time of approximately 50 mins each.

Alba takes place in Marina Baixa. The story follows a university student named Alba (Elena Rivera) who is in a relationship with a young stud named Bruno (Eric Masip) who dwells in the same town as Alba. One particular night, Alba returns to her hometown to spend her holidays, she wakes up on the beach in the morning and discovers that she was gang raped. The shocking part is half of the male perpetrators are close friends with her boyfriend Bruno.
Actress Elena Rivera who plays Alba sat down with Télé-Loisirs and spoke about how she accepted such a difficult role in Alba.
She explained: “As an actress, I had to play this victim who tells her story over and over again without being believed.
“It was difficult and I was trying to feel what she might feel in that kind of situation.
“I believe that it is a series necessary to show once again that this kind of act exists.”
Also disclosing the explicit rape scene in the show, she asserted she struggled to keep herself as calm and composed as possible.
She described how that particular scene had a huge effect on her even after filming was done.
Rivera expanded: “Afterwards, I felt anxious, I felt nauseous at the idea that although we only did one performance, when it was something that happens in real life.
“I was a little shocked and shaken by the days that followed.”
Will There Be a Season 2 of Alba?
To be honest, it looks like the series won’t have a second season. It’s possible that Alba was only intended for a one-season thing. The ending in the first season wrapped everything with Alba getting justice and the male perpetrators getting the punishment they deserve.
