Accused has been officially renewed and fans won’t have to wait long for the new season to arrive. More details below:
Developed by Howard Gordon, Accused is a 2023 American crime drama television series heavily inspired by the 2010s British anthology TV series created by Jimmy McGovern of the same name. The series was released on January 22nd, 2023, on Fox.
Upon release, the series immediately received massive love and support from fans around the world. The confirmation announcement for season two did not come as a surprise to many fans as the crime drama series opened with a high 2.0 rating in the 18 to 49 spectator demographic and accumulated 8.4 million spectators live the exact day. It then rose to over 11 million multiplatform viewers and a 2.3 rating in just 3 fats after the series launch. Accused became the broadcast’s highest-rated debut in almost two years, since the launch of NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime back in 2021.
Following the renewal announcement, Michael Thorn, President, Scripted Programming at Fox said in a statement:
“With Accused, Howard Gordon has taken the crime anthology to new heights and acclaim, featuring an all-star roster of directors and talent headlining gripping episodes that entertain viewers with a provocative, fresh take on many of the most relevant, timely issues of our day.”
Fox greenlit the series for season two in March 2023.
Accused Season 2 Release Date
Although the series is renewed, there has been no announcement concerning the second season of Accused or its release date but it is highly speculated for the new season to arrive by early 2024. However, it all depends on the production process.

The Cast of Accused Season 2
The official cast line for the much anticipated second season of Accused has not been revealed but we expect most of the main characters to reprise their roles which include:

- Abigail Breslin will portray Esme Brewer
- Whitney Cummings in the role of Brenda
- Robert Wisdom will play Mitch Becker
- Aisha Dee will play Aaliyah Harris
- Kobna Holdbrook-Smith in the role of David Mingoe
- Jill Hennessy in the role of Lynn Corbett
- Oakes Fegley in the role of Hunter Corbett
- Robert Wisdom as Mitch Becker
- Evan Marsh as Alex Harmon
- Tara Rosling as Dr. Laurie Grotstein
However, it is not known if all the above-mentioned names will return in season two. Additionally, fans can also expect to see new characters as well.
