It’s been almost three years since the last season aired and fans are anticipating the seventh season of the popular reality show 60 Days In on A&E. Is season 7 of 60 Days In renewed? 60 Days In is an American docu-series created by Gregory Henry and produced by Lucky 8 TV. The show has six seasons in total with a whopping 87 episodes overall. It stars Zachary Holland Baker, Monalisa Johnson, Tami Ferraiuolo, Barbra Roylance Williams. 60 Days In first premiered on A&E on 10th March 2016. The docuseries has a rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and scored a 7.7/10 on IMDb. 

What is 60 Days In about? 

60 Days In is also known as The Jail: 60 Days In and premieres in more than 100 countries. In the reality series, seven candidates are put behind bars as confidential convicts for 60 days “without fellow inmates or staff knowing” to have a glimpse of what prison life is like. While the series displays the struggles that a convict faces in their day to day life, the show was also faced with heavy criticism for putting the life of the candidates at risk. Viewers may think that they understand what being in jail is like from watching movies or television shows, but candidates from 60 Days In having to keep on pretending until they make it, resulting in getting themselves involved in fights with other inmates as per reports by Screen Rant.

Is Season 7 of 60 Days In Renewed?

Unfortunately, 60 Days In season 7 is still yet to be renewed.

60 Days In was first released on March 10, 2016. The second season was released on August 18, 2016. The third season was released on March 2, 2017, the fourth season on January 1, 2018, the fifth season on January 3, 2019, followed by a spinoff titled “60 Days In Narcoland” which aired on July 30, 2019, and lastly, the sixth season of 60 Days In was released on January 2, 2020. 

But looking the fact that the docu-series has not been canceled or renewed calls for speculation that the chances of a seventh season happening is on the cards.

60 Days In Season 7 Release Date: When Is It?

The official release date for season 7 of 60 Days In is yet to be announced as the docu-series is still awaiting its renewal confirmation from the network.

Earlier it was speculated that season 7 will be out by the end of 2021 but for some reason, that did not happen. Currently, there are no updates but given the popularity of the series, another season will most definitely happen.

The first three seasons of the series were premiered at different times each year but from season 4 to season 6 have all been released in the same month per year but till now, season 7 hasn’t been released yet as production schedule during that time was badly affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic which resulted in a delay. 

Nevertheless, if we have to make guesses it’s most likely that fans won’t get to see the seventh season until sometime in 2023 as it will take more time for production and mainly because this series is based on real-life events and needs enough time to prepare and film.

What to Expect in Season 7 of 60 Days In?

As of now, Season 7 of 60 Days In is not renewed yet but there’s a high chance that the series will be renewed. 

Also based on all the previous seasons of the series, it is likely that the seventh season will be set in the Southern part of the US once again, but the exact location has not been revealed. But first, we’ll have to wait for official announcements either from A&E or the showrunners.
