When Daniel Alfredsson retired from the NHL in 2014, Sens fans inevitable knew that the #11 jersey would be raised up into the rafters at the Canadian Tire Centre one day. That special day will come during the 2016/2017 season a source tells the Nilsen Report.

Sens owner Eugene Melnyk confirmed this report at today’s press conference by announcing that Alfredsson will have his No. 11 jersey retired on Dec. 29th vs DET.
