Edin Sabotic for the Nilsen Report
Tonight is a big night for the UFC, and MMA. The UFC is going back to Japan. This card is stacked from top to bottom;
(Main Card) Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon, Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewki, Yushin Okami vs. Tim Boetsch, Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Jake Shields, Mark Hunt vs. Cheick Kongo, Quinton Jackson vs. Ryan Bader, and finally Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Ben Henderson.
Anthony Pettis vs Joe Lauzon
To kick off the PPV event the first bout is between Anthony “Showtime” Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon. I think this fight may be fight of the night. Both of these fighters come in to fight, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another ninja kick from Pettis. For this fight I have Anthony Pettis winning by third round TKO or by unanimous decision.
The winners I have for the other bouts between the first bout and co-main event are, Hioki, Okami, Shields and Kongo.
Quinton Jackson vs Ryan Bader
The co-main event between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Ryan “Darth” Bader seems to have an obvious outcome, and that is Rampage coming out with the win. Rampage’s standup is far superior to Bader’s, Bader’s only chance of winning this fight is to take Rampage down and hold him down. But even then I don’t think Bader has a chance, Rampage has outstanding takedown defense and I think he will stuff most of Bader’s shots on him. My prediction for this fight is Rampage with a second round KO.
Frankie Edgar vs Ben Henderson
Now for the main event, Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Ben Henderson, many people are saying Edgar is going to win because of his heart, his drive, his speed, etc. Ben Henderson will win this fight; Henderson is the better rounded fighter, all of his wins have been so one sided, while all of Frankie Edgars wins have been very close. Ben Henderson is the bigger stronger fighter, who is also very fast, I think Ben Henderson will get the better of Frankie in the standup department, then take the fight to the ground where he will hand Frankie Edgar his second loss. My prediction for this fight is Ben Henderson winning by rear naked choke in the late 3rd round, or in the 4th round to become the new light weight champion of the world!
