NHL All-Star Weekend 2012 Wednesday Notes

With the All-Star events beginning tomorrow, here are some things to take note of.

  • Red flag is up for the Canal, can’t skate on it right now. Hopefully this changes soon.
  • Erik Karlsson, Milan Michalek and Colin Greening will be signing autographs at the NHL Fan Fair tomorrow.
  • Sportsnet’s Hockey Central panel will be broadcasting live all weekend from near the canal, go check them out.
  • Tickets for the Fantasy Hockey Draft on the scalper market are going for nearly $200 – original price only $40.
  • I’ve heard the “Official” All Star welcome party is at Studio Thursday night after the Fantasy Draft. The local Wisers Rep tweeted yesterday that “most” of the All Stars will be at Tila Tequila after the Draft for their party. In other words, who knows.
  • Junxion Public House will be having Erik Karlsson host an event Friday night.
  • The Sheepdogs and Young Rival are playing a Sirius XM Radio sponsored show at The Great Canadian Cabin Friday night. Unfortunately, its already sold out.
  • Tickets for Skills competition between $140 and upwards.
  • Tickets for All-Star game are going for just above $200.
  • Rapper Drake and singer Outasight will be performing at the All-Star game.
  • Ovechkin is skipping out on the All-Star game due to suspension. He is allowed to play but has chosen not to.
  • James Neal of the Penguins will be taking Ovechkin’s place.

I will have full coverage posts of all of the days events starting tomorrow!
